I went out on jan 9 to give some surf fishing a crack, but only got 2 very small salmon at point lonsdale near the surf lifesavers club. went out yesterday for 2hrs near kyneton fishing the campaspe river for redfin. caught a total of 7 fish between 20cm and 33cm and kept the best 2 for dinner.

went out again today around maribyrnong below highpiont and got 4 bream, the biggest measuring a little over 37cm. the first 3 fish caught were in the shallows and i was able to sight cast to the fish to try and get the ones i wanted. they were spooked after a little while by a passing charter boat and went down deep after that.

I had been using live shrimp for bait that i collected last week but when I ran out I started using unweighted squidgy critter baits coated in xfactor, only managed 1 on the imitation bait.
