broke the drought

Well I finally got one today and broke about a 2 month drought from catching fish, even if it was just a carp. I tried three spots along the Goulburn River near Nagambie and Seymour and finaly caught something about half an hour before I had to leave in time to get kids from school. The carp weighed about 4 pound and took a scrubworm on a 2-4kg outfit and put up a decent fight. I also caught a couple of greedy crayfish that were chewing at my worms, so it looks like I'll be back there in 2 weeks for the start of cray season to get a good feed and the water is already cold enough for some good activity.
was going to take this but the forecast was rain.
 1st stop at Mitchelton

last stop where I caught the fish

big enough to be fun to catch
one of the hungry crays.

still no fish

I have made 5 trips out with a rod this last month and come home empty handed each time, in spite of my perseverance. I had tried again on the Jacksons creek for trout, made a trip to Dean reservoir using bait and lures, spent an evening at Wurdi Boluc reservoir with a couple of live fish for bait under floats, cast lures again at Metcalfe in the loddon river and spent a couple of hours with bait and lures in the Campaspe River. The most action I had was a few dropped fish in the Campaspe and some follows right to the edge where I could see the fish come up behind my lures. I have also been out on Pykes Creek reservoir for a paddle in my canoe but didn't take a rod out. I have an RDO tomorrow and am traveling to Nagambie area for a while so hope to have better luck.
