spent a couple of hours casting lures today and caught 3 small redfin. there was a lot of very timid bites and a few small redfin following the lure all the way to my feet but not striking. still enough action and a nice enough day to enjoy it.

Portland again

Did another overnight stay to drop kids off for the holidays and squeezed in a bit of fishing in Portland while I was there. I caught 2 nice King George whiting near 40cm, 6 pinkys between 20 and 30 cm, 2 grass whiting just shy of 30 cm and 2 silver trevally. Not many people catching good size fish that I saw, however a guy fishing beside me did get spooled by something fairly large.

long weekend

Just got back from Murchison where i spent 3 day with the family on the banks of the Goulburn river i caught 2 yellowbelly the first day, nothing the second and the third morning i caught 5 small cod of which 3 looked to be trout cod and a 30cm silver perch. The water had steadily rose about 2 foot or so while I was there and possibly gotten cooler as there was a large release from Eildon to flush blue green algae further down stream.
I haven't done much fishing this month with the exception of an evening at geelong near Corio which proved fishless. Hope to get out a bit more again next month.
